Sight seeing was the name of the game today!

A slightly overcast sky greeted everyone as they woke this morning, however after a quick dip in the pool (sea), the days adventures were eagerly anticipated.

The obligatory Happy Hour over it was time to pack up a cut lunch and head ashore for a leasurly stroll to one of the local sights - some waterfalls. As it turned out, the water level was not high enough for a swim. After returning to Young Endeavour, the rope swing was rigged and the pool opened! The ship weighed anchor at 1500 for the short pilotage down the bay to anchor off Opua just after 1600.

With stores all aboard the ships boats it was once again time to test the culinary skills of the ships engineer and sample his BBQ delights! The Opua Yacht Club were kind enough to allow us to use their facilities for dinner.

Below are comments from some of the Youth Crew:

Pip:
Better make this quick as another exciting round of Rope Races are about to begin. Luckily our Watch has been practicing and all the talents of our motley crew are being put to good use. Am a little bit sore and tired, and my brain is exploding with nautical jargon...but I am having the time of my life.

Until tomorrow...
