Young Endeavour Youth Scheme Celebrates 25 Years

“On 28 November 2012 Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, Governor-General of Australia and Patron of the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme, hosted an event at Admiralty House to acknowledge the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme’s achievements over the past twenty five years.

Speaking to guests including youth crew alumni, staff crew and supporters of the Young Endeavour Program, Ms Bryce said the Scheme had made a difference to the lives of thousands of young Australian participants since 1988.

In 2013 Young Endeavour will celebrate her 25th birthday, having arrived at Sydney Harbour on 25 January 1988. Since then more than 11,000 young Australians have joined 468 voyages in Young Endeavour, and a further 10,000 guests from organisations supporting young Australians with special needs have joined a day sail.
