Ahoy Me Hearties,

Welcome to the Captain's Log for Voyage 17/07. We have just had a terriffic 24 hours getting to know each other and the ship. last night we spent the night at anchor in Sandy Bay next to the Wrest Point Casino. During the evening everyone made their first climb to the topgallant yard - well done team!

This morning we had morning brief, cleaned ship (\happy hour\") completed our safety inductions, and sailed from Hobart. The balance of the day has been spent learning the ropes, setting and furling sails, and enjoying an awesome sail down the scenic D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Our initial intention was to head around to Port Davey in the remote south west of Tasmania, but unfortunately the weather forecast is against us and so reluctantly we have turned east across Storm Bay and commenced passage up the east coast of Tassie.

Hopefully late tomorrow we will be able to make the safe haven of Wineglass Bay, where we will put everyone ashore for a climb to the mountain lookout.

Tomorrow will be spent on education about our tall ship and how she works, and how we navigate her. Hopefully the strong winds forecast won't get in the way too much!

Until tomorrow, shipmates,

Yours Aye,

Chris
