Ahoy Shipmates,
This morning we awoke to a cold Tasmanian morning accompanied with a few coastal showers. Following morning brief and cleaning stations the anchored was weighed, a full press of fore and aft sails set and YE departed Anderson Bay and headed back into Bass Strait into a strong 25kt north easterly. Once in open water the rest of the morning was dedicated to consolidation of sail handling and navigation skills in preparation for much anticipated Command Day. Following lunch the Ship was brought to tacking stations and a new course shaped to the south west and our planned anchorage for the night at Nolan Bay near the coastal township of Weymouth. Over the following 2 hours I conducted Captains setting and furling drills and successfully completed this activity in time for the Ship to come safely to anchor in Nolan Bay at 1630. Tonight following another fantastic dinner I presented my Command Day brief which was immediately followed by the YC Command elections. By 2030 these elections were complete and after a short question period the YC settled into anchor watches for the night and a well deserved rest in preparation for the commencement of tomorrows Command Day when the Youth Crew of Voyage 16-08 will take Command of YOUNG ENDEAVOUR for a full 24 hour period.

Until Tomorrow, take care

Yours Aye

Captain Gav
