Ahoy Shipmates,

Welcome to the last Captain's log for Voyage 04/08.

After morning brief this morning the YC completed a quick Happy Hour in preparation for our guests for the half day sail. The anchor was weighed at 0830 and the ship made the short passage to Fleet Base East where she berthed at 0900. After garbage was landed and stores embarked 25 guests from the Australian Signing Choir, and some Staff Crew guests were welcomed onboard. Lines were cast off at 1000 and the ship commenced a memorable 3 hour voyage around Sydney Harbour. The weather was perfect with 10-15kt southerly winds and all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The Youth Crew were the perfect hosts and thrived at the opportunity to share their tall ship with a group of young Australians who would otherwise not be able to share in the Young Endeavour experience. The ship returned to her berth at 1300 and once our guests were farewelled we sailed around to our anchorage at Farm Cove. Once at anchor the YC proceeded aloft to complete harbour furls of the square sails, followed by end of voyage talks. Dinner consisted of our final teak deck BBQ, but due to inclement weather the Ships concert had to be cancelled. The rest of the evening will be spent reflecting on the past 10 days and enjoying each others company.

Due to our upcoming maintenance period Young Endeavour will not commence another voyage until 19 Apr 08.

Until next voyage, take care

Yours Aye,

Captain Gav
