LADY MUSGRAVE ISLAND
Hi Everyone,This morning was clear and sunny and morning brief found YOUNG ENDEAVOUR 40nm north of Sandy Cape (northern point of Fraser Island) now under full plain sail and enjoying the moderate south easterly trade winds. Following morning brief and cleaning stations we went straight into rotational tacks, this activity gives the YC the opportunity to experience and gain an appreciation for each others tacking position and gives them a better understanding of ship management. Early afternoon saw us hand in all sail and motor the final 2nm to our planned anchorage at Lady Musgrave Island. Once safely at anchor the course yard rope swing was rigged and everyone enjoyed a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water of this amazing marine park. Late this afternoon we were visited by HMAS LABUAN (Navy Heavy Landing Craft) who conducted an impressive sail past and photo shoot of both ships then joined us for coffee once they had settled into their anchorage. This evening we enjoyed the first of our teak deck BBQ’s for the voyage (cooked by Phil so that we could give Chef Chad the night off) which was followed by an entertaining session of three way talks (communication and public speaking exercise). To finish of the evening the Adam the Navigator gave an important presentation on anchor watches before everyone turned in for a good nights rest.Tomorrow morning we will ferry the Youth Crew ashore to Lady Musgrave Island were they will be given the opportunity to swim, snorkel, play beach sports or just enjoy a good leg stretch.Until tomorrow, take care.Yours AyeCaptain GavÂ

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
