The Youth Crew were excellent hosts today and the Staff would like to thank them. Thanks for helping to teach, show around, encourage, talk to, laugh with, be friends with, and clean up after, our guests onboard. They certainly appreciated the sailing judging from the hearty cheers when we got back. We are wrapping up the voyage now and as Rick the Engineer would say 'the job isn't over til the paperwork is done'. But here's what really happened today.

Youth crew entry by Jody, age 18, from Yeppoon and Katie, age 21, from Canberra.
Today we arose at 5.30am to set sail for Mackay, where we picked up a group of intellectually disabled guests to share some of our experiences on board a tall ship.

We sailed around the outer harbour for 3 hours, many of our new crew experiencing sea sicknesses as we did at the beginning of our voyage. It was a very challenging and rewarding day for the youth crew but fun was still had by all.

After our guests had disembarked the ship, the entire youth crew climbed aloft to harbour furl the square sails. We then broke into our watch groups for an end of voyage debrief, followed by a concert held by staff and youth crew.

Overall we have thoroughly enjoyed our voyage on the Young Endeavour. Everyone of board has been fantastic especially the red watch team and our leader, Kath. We would like to thank all staff crew for a fun, challenging and team building voyage from Brisbane to Mackay.

To end I (Jody) would like to say hi to Mum, Sarah, Andrew, Ben and Darren. Even though I will be home when you read this.

I (Katie) would like to say hi to Mum and whoever else I know that might be reading this.

Stay tuned
