Today we arrived off the Rip and carried out setting and furling. The YC are now ready to sail on their own and they proved that they can do it safely. At lunch we entered the Rip - it was slack water so it wasn't much to look at. The wind died down considerably when we journeyed along the south channel and waved to onlookers at White Cliffs at Rye. Hi Mum, Dad and Jarrod!

Before arriving at Dromana the staffies had a fire exercise and put out a make believe fire in the engine room. When we anchored the YC had Command Day elections and voted in their new team. It is a good selection and I am confident they will do well.

The YC mission is to sail to Mornington to launch the Beach Assault Team and then go in search of other Tall Ships on Port Phillip Bay in order to gather intelligence on their sailing abilities for the upcoming race on Australia Day. Tomorrow is Young Endeavour's 13th Birthday and we will be alongside at Station Pier for the cake cutting. So come on down and sing Happy Birthday with us.

Sorry - but no YC entry today - they are all too busy.

Stay tuned
