Ahoy Shipmates,
This morning was mild with a few passing showers, following EMA and breakfast the anchor was weighed and YE commenced her 1.5 hour pilotage up the Adelaide River. Whilst underway we completed a short morning brief followed by a good set of cleaning stations in preparation for receiving our guests for the half day sail. At 0910 YE berthed at No 13 Berth, Dock 2 at Port Adelaide. Once alongside sullage (garbage) was landed and stores embarked. At 0945 30 guests from the Cora Barclay Centre (hearing impaired) and a number of Staff Crew guests were welcomed onboard. Lines were cast off at 1000 and the ship commenced a very enjoyable 3 hour voyage down the Adelaide River. All of the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the Youth Crew thrived at the opportunity to share their ship with a group of young Australians who would otherwise not be able to share in the Young Endeavour experience. At 1300 the ship returned to her Port Adelaide berth and we farewelled our very appreciative guests. Due to a refrigeration defect with the caf fresh provision fridge and the requirement for a technician to come in and conduct repairs we decided to remain alongside and complete these repairs. During the afternoon the YC completed their last set of rope races before proceeding aloft to complete the mandatory final harbour furls. Once these furls were complete the Watch Leaders sat down with their watches and completed end of voyage talks. This evening we enjoyed the last teak deck BBQ for this voyage, followed by a very theatrical and entertaining ship's concert. The rest of the evening has been spent with YC completing end of voyage questionnaires and letters to themselves, which are returned to each YC member six months after voyage completion. Whilst the YC were completing these final administration tasks the Staff Crew took the opportunity to conduct their own end of voyage debrief.

Overnight the Youth Crew will complete their last watches together before completing this voyage when we berth at Port Adelaide at 1000 tomorrow morning.

This ends another very successful voyage for the Staff and Crew of Young Endeavour Voyage, until next voyage take care.

Yours Aye

Captain Gav
