Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the final Captains Log for Voyage 08-10. Following a very successful Command Day the Youth Crew enjoyed a well deserved good night's sleep.
It was the normal 0630 wake-up call this morning with everyone mustering on deck for an energetic early morning activity which was followed by one of Chef Snowy\\'s huge breakfasts. Normally we would have embarked a Special Needs group for a 3 hour sail today but due to the low pressure weather system that has been causing havoc on the NSW Coast, I regrettably had to cancel this activity and remain alongside whilst this low passes through. In its place the Youth Crew were kept busy this morning completing harbour furls and assisting Taff the Bosun with some routine upper deck maintenance. Following lunch the Youth Crew proceeded ashore with their Watch Leaders, firstly to catch a movie then to then to sit down and complete \\'end of voyage talks\\'.
This evening with everyone back onboard we enjoyed the last Teak Deck BBQ for the voyage which was professionally cooked by our Boats Officer Phil and myself. Once we had cleaned up from dinner everyone mustered in the Ships Cafe and watched a slide presentation of photographs that had been taken by the Youth Crew throughout this voyage.
The time is now 2100 and the Youth Crew have just finished their voyage critiques and are now writing \\'letters to themselves\\' which will be sent to them in 6 months time.
Tomorrow morning we will depart Queens Wharf, conduct a short passage around Newcastle Harbour before returning alongside with the Youth Crew manning the yards for the last time for this voyage. Following a brief ceremony with family and friends we will farewell the Youth Crew of Voyage 08-10.
Young Endeavour will remain alongside in Newcastle until Friday 4 June when we will embark the Youth Crew for Voyage 09-10, which will see us continue our passage north by sailing from Newcastle to Brisbane. Over the next 4 days the Staff Crew will complete some maintenance on the ship and catch-up on some much needed rest in preparation for the next voyage.

Until next voyage, take care.

Yours Aye

Captain Gav
