Hi Everyone, Welcome to day three of our voyage. Due to strong conditions and rather large swell I chose to stay close to coast overnight and transit through Mercury Passage and into Great Oyster Bay which resulted in a reduced number of cases of seasickness than what we would have experienced if we had headed further out to sea. By sunrise this morning we were located 5nm to the NNE of Maria Island sailing under fore and aft sail and two squares and enjoying the improved conditions. Morning Brief was as entertaining as ever and once completed the ship was called to tacking stations and we wore ship, altered course to the east, then transited through Schouten Passage under sail which gave the Youth Crew a great view of the spectacular peaks of the Freycinet Peninsular and Schouten Island. Once safely through the passage we altered course to the north, handed in sail then proceeded directly into the beautiful Wineglass Bay where we came safely to anchor at 1215. Once at anchor we conducted our first set of rope races for the voyage then ferried everyone ashore for a hike to the scenic Wineglass Bay lookout which was followed by a swim and some beach games. This evening with everyone safely back onboard we enjoyed a Teak Deck BBQ dinner which was followed by a very entertaining round of Three Way Chats (communication and getting to know each other exercise). Once completed, we weighed anchor, departed Wineglass Bay and in moderate to strong north easterly winds continued our passage north. The time is now 2100 and we are currently located 10nm to the NE of Wineglass Bay motor sailing into strong NNE winds which we expect to back to the west overnight giving us some favourable sailing conditions. Until tomorrow, take care Yours Aye Captain Gav
