Ahoy there everyone,
A well deserved nights rest at anchor was had by all. I guarantee everyone onboard slept very soundly and for good reason, most were exhausted from Command Day. The ship weighed anchor at 0830 departing Semaphore Anchorage and made best speed under engines to Port Adelaide Outer Harbour where the ship berthed alongside the commercial wharf at 0900 and embarked our half day sail guests from the Leukaemia Foundation.

Once welcomes were complete the ship departed the wharf at 1000 and proceeded out of the port into the Gulf of Saint Vincent, to set the fore and main staysails and topsail in very light conditions. This enabled the guests to observe the recently acquired deck work of the Youth Crew.

After three hours at sea the ship then returned alongside Outer Harbour at 1300 where the half day sail guests were farewelled. After a short break the Youth Crew lay aloft on the yards to put harbour furls on all the square sails. Once complete we sailed from our berth and proceeded to our overnight anchorage at Semaphore Anchorage for our last night together on Young Endeavour. A slide show was shown on the upper deck capturing various moments and experiences during the voyage, this enabled the Youth Crew an opportunity to reflect on the past 10 days of their amazing once in a life time journey. The rest of the evening was spent completing end of voyage questionnaires and letters to themselves, which are returned to each Youth Crew member six months after voyage completion.

Tomorrow morning, Young Endeavour will weigh anchor, transit the short distance up the Adelaide River to the Inner Harbour berth, yards fully manned with our accomplished young adventurers where we will say our final farewell to the Youth Crew of Voyage 19/10. It has been a magnificent journey and one not to be forgotten.

The ship will remain in Adelaide until Tuesday 23rd November 2010 when she will embark the next Youth Crew for Voyage 20/10, Adelaide to Devonport. An open day will be conducted 1300 1600 Sunday 21st November 2010.

Until then it has been an honour and privilege to sail with the Youth and Staff Crew of Voyage 19/10. I wish them all the best for their future endeavours.

Yours aye

Captain Damien
