COMMAND DAY CONCLUDES
Ahoy there again, this is Youth Captain Shannon,After a long night with most of the youth crew not getting much sleep, the sun rose as we were heading towards our last navigational waypoint. During the night, with favourable winds, we managed to hit 4 of our waypoints. We also managed to perform a 540° turn which is very rare for a tall ship. All members of the crew worked exceptionally hard to keep us on course to the final waypoint. After passing the final waypoint and commencing navigation back into Moreton Bay, we handed the navigational duties back to the staff crew to allow us to madly complete the remaining tasks. Morning brief was conducted at midships over a chalk mural depicting our adventure on the Young Endeavour. We were all entertained by a nautical nugget presented by the youths own Stinky Seadog. Following morning brief, control of the ship was handed back the staff to enable the fatigued youth team to get some deserved rest for the last day aboard the Young Endeavour.                                                                               Command day was challenging and at times stressful. There were a lot of lessons learned from the last 24 hours. I as a Captain was blessed to have such a wonderful team working with me to achieve so much of what we set out to do. We have grown quite close and learned a lot about our selves and each other. I’m sure it will be an emotional moment stepping off this ship tomorrow morning in Brisbane. I am very proud of our youth crew! Goodbye Young Endeavour, Youth Captain Shannon. Crabs and Seashells forever!

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
