Good Evening Shipmates,

What a beaut day! Woke to a glorious morning in the beautiful Nara Inlet and after a quick wake up game and brekkie, we weighed anchor and motorsailed through the narrow and spectacular Hook Passage. From there it was set all fore and aft sail and fantastic days sailing was had in the fresh soueaster. A navigation lecture was given to the YC as we made our way southwards. By mid afternoon the ship anchored off the stunning Whitehaven Beach and shortly thereafter the YC were ferried ashore. A couple of hours ashore was enjoyed by all with many enjoying a game of beach cricket or just taking it easy or having a dip in the aqua clear waters of that area. It really was a picture perfect afternoon.

At 1600 all YC were back safely onboard and a round of rope races were enthusiastically contested. Dinner was served and enjoyed on deck before a sunset climb aloft for the entire YC was conducted. In the fading light the anchor was weighed and the ship motored through Solway Passage to commence our overnight sail. Sails were soon set and we are expecting to tack at midnight when all hands will be required on deck. Tomorrow will be a full on sailing day which should be a lot of fun.

This YC are doing very well and they're working very well together which is always pleasing.

Chat tomorrow and perhaps I'll have some YC add their own observations about their time onboard thus far.
