Ahoy shipmates,

Today we berthed alongside Outer Harbour, Port Adelaide at 9 a.m. to embark guests from the Ashford Special School for young people with intellectual and physical disabilities for a three hour sail . The youth crew were tasked with looking after our guests and teaching them some tall ship skills. Once clear of the harbour we set sail and tacked the ship in the fresh south westerly breeze. Everyone participated; spirits were high with sea shanties and other songs breaking out spontaneously between heaving on the many lines needed to make a square rigged ship work. At 1 p.m. we returned to the wharf to disembark our guests and we all felt a sense of pride and satisfaction in being able to share this limited time on board Young Endeavour with those of our community who are unable to participate in a full ten day voyage.

After disembarking our guests we proceeded down the coast a short way to anchor off Glenelg in company with South Australia's sail training ship, the One and All. This evening all participated in the end of voyage Sod's Opera, which must go down as a record for its duration with creative and humorous acts from each of the watches.

Tomorrow we will sail in company with One and All back along the coast and into Inner Harbour, Port Adelaide.

Yours Aye
Captain Bob

Youth Crew entry:

Hey folks, Anthony here.
Well here it is the final youth crew entry for voyage 18/07. Many of the youth crew here don't want the trip to end. We have had a great deal of fun and learned so much on our trip from Devonport. This morning saw us sailing and sharing with those less fortunate than us. Most of the crew found it to be a fun and rewarding experience_involving a lot of singing. Our SODS opera was a great success later that day, and we were able to reminisce about our time aboard after a brilliant seafood barbecue dinner. Tonight we will have our final full watches and tomorrow shall bring us to the end of our sailing experience. Well this is my rant, so I guess I'll see you around.
Happy travels!
