COMMENTS FROM YOUTH CREW
WOW - WHAT AN AMAZING VOYAGE WE HAVE HAD. IT IS VERY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT JUST TEN DAYS AGO 24 STRANGERS FROM THROUGHOUT AUSTRALIA (AND ONE RING IN FROM ENGLAND) BOARDED THE YOUNG ENDEAVOUR FOR THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME - AND THAT IT HAS BEEN. WITH NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE ONBOARD A SHIP OF THIS SIZE WE WERE UNSURE EXACTLY WHAT TO EXPECT. FROM DAY ONE THE STAFF ONROARD HAVE BEEN SUPORTIVE, ENCOURAGING, AND MOST OF ALL ENTERTAINING. THEY HAVE TAUGHT US SO MUCH ABOUT SAILING AND HAVE PROVIDED US ALL WITH AN ENVIRONMENT TO LEARN EVEN MORE ABOUT OURSELVES.

THERE HAS NOT BEEN A DULL MOMENT AT ALL. WE STARTED BY CLIMBING MT. MISERY AT PORT DAVEY, SAILED UP THE WEST COAST OF TASMANIA IN 35 KNOT OF WINDS, CLIMBED TO THE TOP OF THE LIGHTHOUSE ON DEAL ISLAND, WENT SWIMMING IN JERVIS BAY, AND ALL OF THIS WAS JUST A FRACTION OF THE EXCITEMENT AND ACTIVITIES THAT WERE SET TO CHALLENGE US. OUR COMMAND DAY WAS A COMPLETE SUCCESS WITH ALL MEMBERS OF THE TEAM WORKING TOGETHER AND PUTTING IN AN AWESOME EFFORT TO ENSURE A SAFE, EFFICIENT, AND TIMELY ARRIVAL TO OUR FINAL DESTINATION JUST OUTSIDE SYDNEY. TOPPING IT ALL OFF WAS A HALF DAY SAIL AROUND SYDNEY HARBOUR WITH AROUND 30 VISITORS ONBOARD.

OUR VOYAGE HAS BEEN A UNIQUE AND MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE THAT ALL OF THE YOUTH CREW WILL REMEMBER FOR EVER. WE HAVE MADE GREAT FRIENDS, HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES, AND WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE STAFF CREW WHO MADE THIS TRIP WHAT IT WAS, AND A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO CAPTAIN DION CURTIS WHO WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ENSURE THAT THE YOUTH CREW EXPERIENCED THINGS THAT WERE TRULY OUT OF THIS WORLD.

IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THE YOUNG ENDEAVOUR - JUST GO FOR IT. IT IS AN EXPERIENCE THAT NO OTHER CAN MATCH.

LOTS OF LOVE - CAITLIN, MAGGIE, AND POLLY.
XOXOX

OUR VOYAGE COMES TO AN END AND IT HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF
MAGNIFICENT. THE YOUTH CREW ARE A FANTASTIC BUNCH OF YOUNG
AUSTRALIANS (AND ONE LOVELY POM), WHO HAVE PUSHED AND CHALLENGED THEMSELVES THROUGHOUT THIS JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME. WE ARE AGAIN REMINDED OF THE SPECTACULAR BEAUTY AND DIVERSITY OF THIS AMAZING LAND OF OURS, AND TO NOT TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. MOTHER NATURE REALLY CAME TO THE PARTY AND PLAYED A HUGE PART IN ALLOWING US TO COME WITHIN 20NM OF CRACKING AN INCREDIBLE 1000 NAUTICAL MILES IN A VOYAGE. NOTING THE AWESOME STOPS AND SHORE VISITS CONDUCTED THIS DISTANCE COVERED IS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE WITH AN AVERAGE SPEED OF OVER 7 KNOTS WHILST UNDERWAY AND A TOP SPEED OF 13.4 KNOTS UNDER SAIL. I'M PROUD TO SAY THAT I THINK ALL WERE ABLE TO SIEZE THE DAY, AND HAVE EXPANDED THIER HORIZONS. A SPECIAL THANKS TO MY SUPERB STAFF CREW WHO HAVE AGAIN EXCELLED. TILL NEXT TIME.
