Ahoy Me Hearties,

We have just had a fab 24 hours on passage from Deal Island! Overnight the wind died out so we motored and made good 8.5 knots (about 14kmph). This morning the wind freshened again and so we were able to sail and make good time towards Eden. This morning we had our usual morning brief, then set sails after \happy hour\". This afternoon we had another round of rope races before rotational tacks, where we all get to tack the ship from each other's tacking station.

We berthed in Eden at 1530 this afternoon, and have just enjoyed Jarrod's excellent Sunday roast. Tonight we will have three-way talks (an exercise in public speaking) followed by the classic square rigger DVD \"Around Capre Horn\". Plenty of Pop corn for that one.

To tell you about their voyage so far, here are YC Tara and Laura:

Dear Mum,
Missing you soooo much We cant get our phones back so this will probebey be the last contact we'll have till Sydney.

I feel the same and love you cant wait to get back xoxo

Hey family and friends!
Its laura here. What can i say. i have been having the time of my life. The first few days were sunny, and the past few days have been rain, so ive been heaving in soaking wet ropes with a sunburnt face, like the rest of the youth crew. The food is awesome, jarod is the best chef ever. And my watch group are an amazing group of people. As a youth crew, everyone gets on so well, and theres always someone pulling or telling a joke, starting a game, and just having a good time. We are at eden at the moment, it is our second stop of the voyage (we stopped at Deal Island), and all of us are rocking even though we are standing on land. The rain has cleared up for now, but who knows what the weather wil be. I'll finish up as we are going to do a youth crew activity. Miss you all, but am having the best time ever. See you in 6 days in sydney! xxxxxx - Laura

Sounds like we are having fun, even if the straightener hasn't had a run yet!

Until tomorrow, shipmates,

Yours Aye

Chris
