Voyages in the national sail training ship Young Endeavour are offered to young Australians at a lower cost thanks to support from the Australian Government, the Royal Australian Navy and our Admiral 100 Club members. 

 

Standard Voyage Fee

The standard voyage fee for an eleven day voyage program offered through the ballot is $1,750 (including GST). All meals and accommodation on board Young Endeavour is included in the voyage fee. Transfers are not included. 

There is no fee to apply for the ballot, however successful applicants will be asked to pay a deposit to secure their berth. All voyage fees are payable by the due date on the invoice issued to successful applicants. As per the Terms and Conditions a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be retained in the event of a cancellation.

Financial Assistance

A limited number of financially assisted berths are offered to applicants each year. To be eligible for Financial Assistance, you must be receiving a Centrelink benefit such as Newstart Allowance or Youth Allowance. If you are under 18 and living at home with a parent who receives a Centrelink benefit such as a Supporting Parent Benefit or Disability Support you may also be eligible.

Applicants offered a financially assisted berth will be asked to submit supporting information, such as an Income Statement from Centrelink, as proof of your financial circumstances.

If you are offered and accept a financially assisted berth, you will be invoiced for a minimum of $550 for the voyage. Transfers are not included, so you must also meet any travel costs to and from the ship. 

Please note you can not request financial assistance after the ballot has been held and berths have been offered. You will be asked to indicate whether you are applying for a regular berth or a financially assisted berth during the application process.

Travel Assistance

If you are a resident of Western Australia or the Northern Territory we offer a reduced voyage fee of $1,550 for voyages on the eastern seaboard offered through the ballot. This fee is the standard voyage fee of $1,750 less a $200 travel assistance subsidy.

The travel assistance subsidy will be automatically applied to your invoice. Please complete a regular ballot application here.
